  33. AppleCD 300 Plus drive and the software for it.

  36. VIEWING LARGE PHOTO CD IMAGES
  37. Some programs, such as TeachText, may have difficulty opening large
  38. (high-resolution) image files on a Photo CD. To view these images, you can
  39. change the application program that opens the Photo CD images and use a program
  40. designed to handle larger files. See the manual that came with the CD-ROM drive
  41. for more information. You can also change the amount of memory a program uses.
  42. See the manuals that came with your computer for more information on managing
  43. memory.

  45. DISPLAYING COLOR ICONS FOR IMAGES ON PHOTO CDS
  46. When your computer is low on memory, it may have problems displaying color
  47. icons for the images on a Photo CD. Although some icons may appear as
  48. black-and-white document icons, the Photo CD images themselves are not
  49. affected. To display color icons, quit all open programs, restart your
  50. computer, and reopen the Photos folder on your Photo CD. See the manuals that
  51. came with your computer for more information on managing memory.

  53. SETTING SOUND OPTIONS FOR SOME MACINTOSH COMPUTERS
  54. Some Macintosh computers (such as the Macintosh Quadra 660AV and 840AV) have
  55. special sound recording options. If you don't hear any sound when you play an
  56. audio CD or an audio track on a CD-ROM disc, you may have the sound options set
  57. incorrectly. To change the options, open the Sound control panel, choose Sound
  58. In from the pop-up menu at the top of the panel, and then select the Built-In
  59. icon for the audio source. Click the Options button, select Internal CD, make
  60. sure the Playthrough box is checked, and click OK. See the manuals that came
  61. with your computer for more information.

  63. ADJUSTING THE VOLUME FOR SOME MACINTOSH COMPUTERS
  64. Some Macintosh computers allow you to increase or decrease the volume of sound
  65. through the Sound control panel, as well as through the volume control in your
  66. audio CD software. The manuals that came with your computer describe the Sound
  67. control panel if your computer has one. The manual that came with your CD-ROM
  68. drive describes the audio CD software.

  70. DISPLAYING THE TOTAL PLAYING TIME FOR CUSTOMIZED PLAY LISTS IN
  71. APPLECD AUDIO PLAYER
  72. If the total playing time of your customized Play List for an audio CD is
  73. longer than 99 minutes and 59 seconds, the Time display in the AppleCD Audio
  74. Player shows 99.99. (The Time display can't display times of more than 2 digits
  75. and 2 decimal points.)

  77. WORKING WITH PHOTO CDS IN SYSTEM 6
  78. If you have System 6 and want to view Photo CDs, turn MultiFinder on before you
  79. insert a Photo CD into your CD-ROM drive. If you are in the Finder, your
  80. computer may not have enough memory to start up the Photo CD. (See manuals that
  81. came with your computer for instructions on how to turn MultiFinder on.) Once
  82. you turn MultiFinder on, place the Photo CD in the tray of the CD-ROM drive and
  83. push the tray in (or press the Open/Close button) to close the tray of the
  84. CD-ROM drive. In a few moments, the Photo CD disc icon appears; you can now
  85. view images on the Photo CD.

  87. USING THE SLIDE SHOW VIEWER IN SYSTEM 6
  88. If you view photographic images in a sequence using the Slide Show Viewer and
  89. you want to look at images from more than one Photo CD, do not start up the
  90. Slide Show Viewer from the Photo CD. Copy the Slide Show Viewer onto your hard
  91. disk, and use that copy to view photos. If you start up the Slide Show Viewer
  92. from the Photo CD, you will experience problems when you insert the next Photo
  93. CD.

  95. EJECTING CD-ROM DISCS IN AT EASE
  96. If you are using At Ease (an alternative to the usual Macintosh desktop) and
  97. you want to eject a CD-ROM disc, make sure you eject the disc before you shut
  98. down your computer. The Open/Close button of your CD-ROM drive does not work
  99. when the computer is shut down.
  100. To eject a disc while using At Ease:  Choose the Eject command from the Special
  101. Menu. Remove the disc and close the tray by pushing it in or pressing the
  102. Open/Close button.
  103. WARNING: If you shut down your computer before you eject a disc while you are
  104. using At Ease, the tray of the CD-ROM drive opens and then closes immediately.
  105. If you attempt to remove the disc as the tray opens or closes, you may damage
  106. the disc or the tray of the CD-ROM drive. (To remove a disc from the CD-ROM
  107. drive after you have shut down your computer:  Start up your computer, then
  108. choose the Eject command from the Special Menu. Remove the disc and close the
  109. tray by pushing it in or pressing the Open/Close button. Then you can shut down
  110. your computer again.)
